natural dyes from my garden, ecoprints

botanically printed silks of 2023 growing season

This year, botanical print is completely different as the garden has changed and looks differently. June was dry completly and then it rained, rained, rained. Heat vs cold days. Finally, tomatoes refused to ripen. Some of the so awaited flowers were disastrously eaten by slugs. Against all odds, I tried to dye consistently and eventually my way of dyeing also changed. I wished patterns no more. I wished the 'underwater' scenes where all is connected and all is painting smoothly. I wished the diving views, unexpected smudges, little drops and quiet craziness that plants can only offer when I only ask them. :))
